Plant CSA
Plant CSA in Vancouver, WA
Give your garden the head start it deserves. Skip the big box stores this year and start your garden with healthy, hyperlocal plants grown right here in the Pacific Northwest.
When you join the Hearth & Hollow Plant CSA, you get seasonal plant starts, guides, and support so you can grow food at home with confidence.
How it Works
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. A Plant CSA works like a traditional CSA, except instead of produce, you get plant starts.
- Join and load your credit. Choose your share size based on how many plants you think you'll need for the season. Your credit doesn't expire, so there's no pressure to use it all at once.
- Choose your plants. With over 250 varieties of seeds to choose from, you can pick exactly what you want to grow or let me curate a seasonal selection for you. Either way, every plant comes with a grower's guide so you always know what to do next.
- Pick up when you're ready. Plants are available at the Vancouver Farmers Market on Saturdays or at porch pickup in SE Vancouver every other Sunday. Come when it makes sense for your garden.
Over time, you'll build a garden that produces fresh food for your family while you learn to grow with the rhythm of the seasons, and I'm here as a resource throughout the season if you need guidance.

What’s Included
- Our pricing is competitive with big box stores - and these are organic and locally grown.
- Healthy plant starts — grown from non-GMO seed in organic soil, adapted for our region. I use either secondhand plastic pots or OMRI-certified pots (Fertil or Cowpot) that decompose in place (great for plants that don’t like being transplanted).
- Seasonal grower’s guide — simple instructions for planting, tending, and harvesting each quarter’s plants.
- Ongoing support — I’m here as a resource throughout the season. Got questions? Ask me.
- Monthly newsletter — tips, reminders, and recipes to keep you on track.
- Community connection — become part of a neighborhood movement toward seasonal, sustainable eating. This summer, I’m planning a celebration for CSA members.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much are the plants?
Most plants are $4. Occasionally, you'll see things that are a little more, but they will be specialty items (like raspberry canes, etc).
What size are the plant starts?
Most starts come in 3–4″ pots. Some crops do better in cell packs (think lettuces), so you’ll get multiple plants per pack. Everything’s potted to the right size, so you don’t have to panic-plant in chaotic spring weather.
What if I’m out of town during pickup?
Porch pickup is flexible—just let me know a day or so in advance when you can come by. For farmers market pickup, you can arrange to pick up the following week or have a friend grab your share.
Can I choose my own plants or do you pick for me?
Both! You can either pick exactly what you want to grow or let me curate a selection for you based on what thrives in that season.
Do you offer gift subscriptions?
Yes! Plant CSAs make great gifts. You can also prepay for single starts and choose your plants at the market when you’re ready.
What if a plant doesn’t make it?
Let me know within a week of pickup, and I’ll replace it or give you credit for your next plant.
